During the Holy Month, families, friends and loved ones unite at home to enjoy special times together. Through Tanagra’s Ramadan Rendezvous, we immerse in the connection between sunset and gathering, through celebrating a rich heritage within the Middle East. The magical journey begins with décor preparations at home, to creating the perfect dining setting at the Iftar table, and ends by sharing joyful moments at the time of Suhoor. Decorative objects have the ability to hold memories, to be cherished and transcend time. With this in mind, Ramadan Rendezvous explores a unique beauty through the perspective of four inspiring individuals: Lujain, Meshary, Taleb and Basma.
Lujain’s concept of Sufrah is deeply inspired by her mother. “Growing up in a home that was a vibrant tapestry of colours, I was constantly surrounded by her impeccable sense of design.” Instilling a love of creativity, her table suggests the richness of cultural heritage, unwavering hospitality, and a profound love for hosting.
“Our daily family game nights, dressing up in kaftans, and embracing the values of our religion and culture are all integral parts of my cherished Ramadan memories.”
Meshary’s Sufrah is inspired by traditional sophistication, mixing monochromatic and ethnic patterns with classic pieces from Baccarat and Christofle. “Ramadan is a very intimate month for me specifically. It's all about bonding with the family, bonding over design, fashion, and having a moment to switch off and really appreciate the quality time together”.
“My favourite Eid memory is waking up early morning to unpack and prepare all the new pieces that we bought for Eid, and then gathering at my grandma's house for breakfast.”
At the heart of Taleb’s Sufrah is a celebration of Qatari heritage, infused with the elegance of modern fashion. “It's a visual narrative that tells a story of where we come from and where we are heading, embracing both traditional and contemporary trends.” Each element, from the Lladro incense burner to the decorative Ginori dinnerware is carefully chosen to evoke a sense of belonging and cultural pride.
"My favourite Eid memory, ever since I was a child and up until now, is receiving ‘Ediya’".
For Basma, Ramadan is dedicated to self-reflection and practicing gratitude. The preparation is most important, focusing on the littlest details with Baccarat butterflies and crystal décor from Reflections. “I always make sure to include a mix of elements that would enrich every gathering to make it extra special for my guests.” Drawing inspiration from her mother, she learnt a love for interior design, blending together beautiful homeware.
